Thanksgiving Us Much Fish...

It's been a bountiful autumn this year, with a cornicopia of different fish... An Amberjack attack, invasion of different kinds of groupers & snappers; delicious delights to fill our plates, to mix it up a bit from all of the turkey and other holiday fares.

What's better than turkey you ask? The amberjack pictured to the right, held by 11 yr old Matew Cemer from Bradenton. This was his first amberjack, caught using a live pinfish, in about 130 ft offshore on his first offshore trip. Matew also caught a multitude of grouper and snapper on a charter with Capt Larry.

Beyond bragging rights, the beautiful red grouper Dr.Janet Razze, of Holmes Beach caught & pictured below, is downright trophy sized! She caught this serious fish using a live pinfish in about 125 ft offshore of Anna Maria Island.
The party also caught red and gag grouper, and even had the opportunity to battle, catch and release a giant 100 lb Goliath Grouper (formerly called Jewfish). Check out the gorgeous American red snapper Shirley Orr- also of Holmes Beach, is pictured with below with... she caught this feisty fish on the same trip, all while targeting black grouper. Trips like the fishing charters pictured above are more than par for the course.
